He received a major role as Mauser in “Police Academy 2′′ in 1985, which he reprised a year later in “Police Academy 3.”
When he was paralyzed after falling from a ladder in 1989, the comedian’s career was derailed, but he recovered and transformed his misfortune into a one-man show called “Jews Don’t Belong on Ladders… An Accidental Comedy.”
He told Ability magazine in 1999 that he recalls the precise day and time of his fall “vividly,” and that it’s “something that will be with me till the day I die.”
