Galvan and Dawson, a previous Compton City Council candidate, allegedly worked together to secure votes to ensure Galvan’s retention of his District 2 seat, according to the federal complaint.

Even though they didn’t live in Compton, Chaouch, Morris, Reed, and Streeter were supposedly registered to vote at Dawson’s address. All four have been accused of improperly voting in the election.

Galvan defeated rival Andre Spicer, 855 to 854, in the election. Galvan is also suspected of attempting to bribe a registrar employee on election night when she was counting ballots.
