Orndorff’s son previously stated that his father had dementia, which he believes was caused by the growing brain condition chronic traumatic encephalopathy or CTE. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2011, he survived it a few years ago. Orndoff suffered from dementia in the last few months of his life.
On Monday, Orndorff’s son Travis posted on social media about his father’s passing, saying that while others knew him for his “physique” and “intensity,” he wished they could “understand and see his heart.”
“At home, he’ll always be Pop, Paw Paw, and Daddy. And as much as many of you hated him as a wrestler, he loved you because of it “Orndorff went on to say. “He was a wonderful father who lavished me with more affection than I deserved. Daddy, I adore you.”
